on money and happiness

To afford happiness, you may need a little money.

Yet be cautious! The old saying has it that money is a bad master.

Whenever you feel that you are becoming a slave, ask: “Am I selling my happiness?”

If the answer is yes, take a break and look inside.

Why do you need to earn so much and enjoy so little?

no loss, no gain

It is just that simple: Whenever you loose, you gain. Whenever you gain, you loose.

The wise man looses the bad for good, perfecting himself and getting closer to the goal.

Whenever you gain, think about what you have lost. Whenever you loose, think what you have gained.

getting things done

  1. Remove the clutters
  2. Make a list of 3 most important things of the day, in order of priority
  3. Turn off the phone, email, and Facebook (hint: SelfControl)
  4. Do the first thing
  5. Short break/Eat/Shower/etc (not exceeding 30 minutes)
  6. Do the second thing
  7. Short break
  8. Do the third thing
  9. Enjoy the rest of your day.

not for me

Got an invitation to another BBQ party.

How many more times do I need to stress that I am vegetarian and I don’t feel well being under that atmosphere?

And yet you are still pushing under the name of “social acceptance”.

I appreciate your food choice, and I think mine should be appreciated too.

Next time, just leave me out.

a cup of words

You are reading it right. Not a cup of coffee, or tea. It’s a cup of words.

I have just recalled about my kindergarden day. Things like alphabets and numbers were of so much excitement.

Grownup like us seem to have forgotten that joy of knowledge. After a long day at work, a sound sleep is usually desired.

How about treating yourself with something different today? Read a paragraph from that novel you did not have time for, or write a few lines to a loved one.

Smiles may occur, magically…

don’t be serious

Life is short.

There are so many things you may want to have, so many dreams you may want to achieve.

It is not always good to invest everything you have into a black box, without knowing what you are gonna get out of it.

Many people claim that in order to succeed you gotta be serious.

I disagree!

Don’t tie yourself with a robe. Set your soul free. What is the point of winning after loosing so much?

Don’t be serious.

Be sincere.

going home

I want to go home.

Of course I want to return to Vietnam, and be with my family and especially Shelby.

There is another place till, that I am seeking for.

Having been here for too long, I want to get back to the origin.

Who am I?

the most valuable thing

What is the most valuable thing?

I believe it is all about having a good sense of value and leading a righteous life.

Will money, fame or whatever most people are pursuing grant them happiness?

Only virtue will do.

a good life

How do you define a good life?

I think it’s as simple as knowing your ultimate purpose, being able to look at yourself in the mirror at the end of the day content about who you are and what you did, then have a good sleep.

Who wants to have everything? I don’t. Maybe I want to know everything, yet that’s another story.

Enough is better.
